Yangzhong Facade

studio505 were asked to develop a new visual landscape and architectural branding for a riverside retail and market development on Yangzhong Island in the Yangtze in Jiangsu province. The project involved the concept design of 750,000m2 of 5 storey retail façade and roof which created an exciting and memorable shopping environment.

The inspiration for the colourful design was developed from the local Yangzhong puffer fish combined with the flow of water represented by the ribbons of shade structures, walkways and roofing creating an abstract underwater world.
